The Churchnet Offering for World Hunger funds hunger relief and development ministries in Missouri, the United States and around the world. The Offering is funded by donations from churches and individuals, and the funds are disbursed in a three-tiered process that joins the Churchnet with worldwide Partners in distributing funds to approved Ministry Providers.
Churchnet & the CLC distribute funds to our Partners
Our Partners distibute funds to the Ministry Providers
It all starts with the application process. Ministry Providers complete the application and return it to our Churchnet offices. Churchnet collaborates with the Texas Baptist CLC in approving funds. Offering funds support ministries which directly alleviate immediate needs (relief) and/or help people move out of poverty (development). Offering funds, for example, can be used for the following:
- to purchase food and food storage equipment,
- to prepare meals and purchase food preparation equipment,
- to produce food and support agricultural and animal husbandry development,
- to provide clean water and sanitation,
- to support micro-enterprise and income development, and
- to help prepare people for employment.
Approximately 25 percent of the Churchnet Offering ministry budget is distributed in Missouri, 15 percent in the United States outside of Missouri, and 60 percent across the globe through Baptist World Aid and other ministry partners. Ninety-two percent of the Offering income directly supports hunger relief and development ministries. Eight percent is used for education and promotion. Send your gifts for the North American Missions Offering to Churchnet at P. O. Box 508, Jefferson City, MO 65102 or give online.
If you would like to apply for Hunger Offering Funds please contact the Churchnet office (firstname.lastname@example.org). Applications for funds are due early each year for the following year’s distributions. Churchnet is always open to receiving requests for urgent needs.
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?
